Along with the Senior Coach appointment, the club has appointed the Youth and Junior 2015 Coaches.
U17- Geoff Dunning
Geoff Dunning has been involved in Australian Rules football for many years. On top of 118 games of junior football, he also played a further 304 games at senior level. This included stints at Cairns, Sandgate, Caboolture, Redcliffe and Bribie Island. During his playing career he was leading club and league goal-kicker on numerous occasions. “Dunno” has also coached or captain/coached over 200 games of senior and youth football including Caboolture’s only senior premiership flag. A couple of years on the side-lines have re-ignited the fire in the belly and he is keen to step back into a coaching role. He believes we have a very talented group of 15, 16 & 17 year old boys that are capable of playing Division 1 football. However, he feels his number one priority is preparing this group for senior football.
U16- Shane Moore
Shane Moore took over the coaching of our U14 in 2014 and his team brought home a Premiership Cup. Shane played for Aspley as a Junior/Youth and has been involved in local junior and youth football for over 10 years.
U15 Girls Monique Lepri
U14 Damien Harding
U13 James Wilkinson
U12 Rod Ely
This year the club has appointed coaches who possess an excellent mix of both playing & coaching experience for our U12’s, 13’s & 14’s. Damien & James still play senior football for our club while Rod is one of only few coaches on the north side of Brisbane to have Level 2 Coaching Accreditation.
Please note the following:
- Although team selection this year will be based upon equal playing time, this is conditional on training attitude & attendance and continual improvement of skills & fitness.
- Training will be conducted regardless of weather conditions unless you hear otherwise.
- If you cannot make training for any reason, please contact your team manager/coach. Failure to do so may result in reduced playing time.
There may still be opportunities for parents to be involved in team-management or assistant coaching. Please speak with your coach to see how your team is situated. All junior/youth games are required to have positions filled (i.e., boundary, goal, water, timing, first-aid (home games only) etc.) Please speak with your team manager.

IMPORTANT – Junior Coaching
Moreton Bay Lions are calling for expressions of interests for additional Coaches and Team Managers for the junior teams U8, U9 & U10 (as these age groups are fielding more than one team).
As skills development is very important for these age groups, previous playing experience is preferred but not essential.
If considering a junior coaching position, Moreton Bay Lions prefers these age groups to train on Wednesday afternoons.
Contact Steve McBride for further details on 0401 691 351.
